Two articles in the NY Times left me shaking my head. One looks like great news for some in the US–“New GM” Ready to Exit Bankruptcy.
Then you see that their resurgence has come with a new product, a throw-back version of the Camaro that puts muscle car back in the American vocabulary.
I am sure this is a fun car to drive, and –for now–maybe affordable enough, but only because fuel prices are relatively low. Will they stay low enough to justify driving a car that gets 22 miles to the gallon?
By now you would think that GM and the rest had learned their lesson, but now making the same mistake they have made so many times, tooling the factory for inefficient cars that will stay in the garage as soon as prices rise again. And this happens at the same time that the government is considering carbon taxes and cap and trade schemes.
